The role of public service announcements in our media culture is to inform the audience, or the public about certain problems that are going on in the world around us. These are usually important issues such as drinking and driving, drug addictions, or things as easy as just buckling your seat belt. This not only educates teens and adults but also the younger audience!
The topics my group thought of were the normal ones such as texting and driving and drinking and driving but then we decided upon the topic of the importance of eating breakfast every morning. Because you cannot be successful without eating breakfast, and skipping meals, especially breakfast, can end up really hurting you in the long run. Breakfast gives you the brain power to energized and ready to learn in school or at work. Our plan to show our PSA is by comparing two different scenarios of one girl who starts her day off by eating breakfast and another girl who started her day off by not eating breakfast. Our group equally played a role in deciding what we wanted to do a PSA about and how we were going to show our subject in a video. We put ideas on a sheet and decided between them as group.
